Junior Contest 2020 VHF

Mission: Providing a practice opportunity for young HAM radio operators. Instilling and developing competitive ability. Strengthening the bond between operators of all ages.

Time: October 23, 2020, 13:00-13:59 UT. Comprises six 10-minute periods (00-09, 10-19... 50-59 mins). 1 contact per station per period and mode may be logged (for a total of 12).

Participants: Any HAM radio operator with a valid radio license who agrees to the terms and conditions included in the contest announcement. 

Evaluation Categories:

Individual HAM radio operators (all stations participating)
Junior (license-holders) - up to age 25
Junior with supervision (without license) - up to age 25
Old timer – age 70 and above

Frequency: 144035-144150 kHz CW, 144150-144390 kHz SSB

Modes: CW (A1A), SSB (A3J).

Reporting: RS(T) + age (as of January 1 – e.g. if the contestant turned 17 on February 5, 16 points will be given) + QTH locator (e.g. HA5XYZ 599 27 JN97DE)

Scoring: The score for a given age plus the distance of the contact in kilometers.

Ages <10 - 500 points
Ages 10-13 - 400 points (10,11,12,13)
Ages 14-18 – 300 points (14,15,16,17,18)
Ages 19-25 - 200 points (19,20,21,22,23,24,25)
Ages 26-69 - 100 points (26,27,...68,69)
Ages 70-75 - 200 points (70,71,72,73,74,75)
Ages 76-80 - 300 points (76,77,78,79,80)
Ages 81-85 - 400 points (81,82,83,84)
Ages ≥ 85 - 500 points (85,86...)

Multipliers: Various ages depending on mode.

Total Score: the sum of points for perfect contacts multiplied by the applicable multipliers

Evaluation: All HAM radio stations submitting a logbook will be evaluated.

Logbook: In EDI format. RH-OB-compatible software may be used for logging.

Submission Deadline: Midnight, October 30, 2020.

Announcement of Results: The final results will be published on the MRASZ website (www.mrasz.hu) within 60 days after the contest.

Awards: All operators submitting a valid logbook will receive a commemorative certificate.
